Hola Amigos!
Here's the official video from the project! Depending on your internet connection and your computer's RAM, you may need to let the video buffer a little in order to watch it without stops.
This is “Agent Roberto” and I created the Baja Tequila Dance video as a way to present a positive image of Baja California and show how much fun we have here.
Everyone involved in the project, from the dancers to the film crew, were all volunteers.
The Video was shot at La Fonda Restaurant in La Misión, Baja California on June 28th, 2009, during their regular Sunday brunch.
There were about 50 dancers involved and several camera people all disguised as tourists. We showed up around 12 noon and took our seats in the restaurant like we were just normal customers. The owners and the general manager were informed of what was going to happen but none of the waiters, bartenders, hotel staff, or regular restaurant patrons were aware of why we were all there. They were just happy to have so much business since our economy has been so impacted by all the negative media coverage of Baja California.
Around 1:00 o´clock, the regular acoustic guitar player took a break. The stationary camera was turned on and our “secret agent” camera people began discretely filming. I got up, hit the play button on my iPod, the music started, and the result is what you see in the video.
This video is made to be forwarded to friends and family, posted on Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter, embedded in websites, and just about any other place where prospective visitors to our beautiful Baja California might view it and be inspired to make a trip down and help support our economy.
At the end of the video, there is a link to the Baja California Dept. of Tourism´s website, www.discoverbajacalifornia.com. If you share this video, please do us a favor and include a link to this website so people can find out more about Baja California.
In addition to the dance video, we are also in the process of making an accompanying mini-doc about “The Making Of” the Baja Tequila Dance video that will show the tremendous support from our community to bring tourists back to Baja California.
